ACDC endeavors to create a meaningful and lasting partnership with local communities to work towards sustainable regional development. Our aim is to assist the local communities in:

• Reducing their vulnerability to future disasters
• Supporting capacity building and community strengthening at the community level
• Ensuring a participatory and community-owned process in development activities

The Community Institution Building project consists of two major centres: one specifically working with men ‘Paalam’ and the other working with women ‘Auroville Village Action Group’ (AVAG). Both centres focus on community building, micro credit and enterprise development activities.
